Letter From Your President

Dear Jaguar Family,

The University of South Alabama has been more than just a place of learning for me. It has been a place of opportunity and growth. And I knew from the moment I stepped on campus it would be easy to call this place home. What I did not know is that these opportunities would lead me to where I am now as your Student Government Association President.

Throughout my time at South, I have had the privilege of serving within SGA in a variety of roles. From being First Year Council Vice President to Director of Campus Advocacy and Chief Justice, each position has taught me so much about this university and how to best support its students. Every experience I have had has increased my love for advocating and serving the student body to ensure that all students have the resources to succeed.

Beyond SGA, I have been fortunate to be involved in several campus clubs and organizations. Some of my most exciting experiences and roles have been working as a South Guide and Visit Assistant, serving in NAACP, and winning the Miss Old Gold and Black Scholarship Pageant.

As your SGA President, my vision is to enhance our student culture by prioritizing student engagement and communication. I want every student to be engaged with both the campus and Mobile community. SGA exists to serve you, so feel free to stop by and see me in the Student Center, SGA Suite 214 or at our weekly Monday night senate meetings. I would love to hear about your successes, challenges, and desires for the University of South Alabama.

Whether you are a new or returning Jaguar, I encourage you to step out of your comfort zone, try something new, and take advantage of all the opportunities our great university has to offer. There is truly a place here for every student to be involved on campus. I urge each of you to find that place, make an impact, and leave your paw print.

I look forward to seeing how, together, we will make the University of South Alabama an even better place for current and future Jaguars. It is truly an honor to represent each of you.

As always, GO JAGS!

With love,

Karrington Foley
